Stress and the Alkaline Lifestyle

Each of us has undoubtedly come to recognize the detrimental effects of unwanted stress and worry. What we might not have thought about is that thoughts and emotions have a way of turning into biochemical compounds such as hormones like cortisol or adrenaline and neurotransmitters like serotonin and GABA. These emotionally induced biochemical compounds from stress and worry directly impact physiology and they are acid forming.  Exercise, mindfulness and meditation are a few of many techniques that can help reduce the negative effects of acid-forming stress and worry.

 

And the antidote to stress and worry? The answer lies in cultivation of what I like to call the “Alkaline Lifestyle.”
